DJ Rob da Bank's top tips
Which festivals are you playing at this Summer?
Bestival obviously! Latitude, the Taico festival in Japan, Rock Ness in Scotland, V festival and maybe the Exit festival in Serbia.
Which are you most looking forward to?
All of them for different reasons - Latitude is very chilled out, Rock Ness for the Scottish loonies and Bestival 'cos it's my festival!
What can't you be at a festival without?
Sounds soft but my wife Josie! She remembers everything I forget from the wellies to the good food and she doesn't let me moan if I haven't had enough sleep!
Bestival is the best festival. Discuss.
Well you said it not me! I wouldn't say it was the best - but I think what we've created is uniquely special and it's many people's best festival as they've grown with us over the last four years. We definitely put in more attention to detail than any other festival I've been to - and there aren't many festies where you can be po-going about to the Beastie Boys one minute, having a Morris Dancing class the next and then settling down for a cup of tea at the WI tea tent with some old ladies making sure you're having a good time.
Best festival experience ever?
Getting engaged to my wife Josie at Glastonbury in 2001. I got down on one knee outside the Rizla tent, amongst the debris, and popped the question in front of loads of our mates while David Holmes was banging out some techno in the background and she said yes... luckily! We were still going strong at the Stone Circle the next morning until green stuff started coming out of my mouth and we called it a day!
And the worst?
Oh probably a very wet Glasto when I forget my wellies and ended up walking through knee deep mud with one trainer on and one bare foot.
Words of wisdom for festival newbies?
Don't take any valuables - do you really need an i-pod, digital camera and camcorder to have a good time? Keep the sounds and memories in your head and live off those!
